EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Bachelor of Science Degree in 1974 from Michigan State University with a major in Retailing. Recently completed forty-two post-graduate semester credits in accounting with Austin Community College (3.85 GPA).

LICENSE: Licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (Texas Registration).

EMPLOYMENT:

Texas Education Agency, Accounting Division, Austin, Texas: Audit and adjust time and effort records and expenditures for fiscal years 1995 and 1996. This includes the allocation of financial resources (e.g. general revenue, fee receipts, and Federal grants) to salaries, benefits, capital outlay, rent, travel, telephone and communications, professional fees and services, and repairs and maintenance. Adjustments are made in accordance with State and Federal accounting procedures and entered into the automated Financial Management System. Also, reconciled appropriations and various funds between the agency's accounting system and the Uniform Statewide Accounting System. I am currently working on General Ledger balance conversion in preparation for the Annual Report. This is a temporary contract position through TRW Information Systems. ($19.00/hr - 4/97 to Present)

Texas Education Agency, Drivers' Training Division, Austin, Texas: As a contract employee through BDM Technologies, I served as the Division’s Accountant and processed fees received from drivers' training schools and entered them into an automated database (MS Access); examined files to locate fee credits and reconciled fee receipts, certificate sales, and fund allocations; and reviewed and corrected the profit and loss statements. This was a temporary contract position. ($13.00/hr - 1/96 to 4/97)

Scurlock, Joe R., PC Round Rock, Texas): Worked as an entry-level accountant for a Certified Public Accountant. Duties included, but not limited to bank reconciliations, journal entries, posting transactions, accounts payable, and accounts receivable on an automated system (Creative Solutions). I also prepared quarterly reports for sales tax and unemployment compensation. ($8.75/hr - 1/95 to 11/95 - Reduction in Force)
